Groo revisited

Spent some time on Groo and gave him some hair and eyeballs. Thinking of bringing him into zbrush and scrapping much of the texturing and perhaps adding some new sculpting.

Business card

K so I have been meaning to rework my business card for awhile now. I think i have landed upon something I like but can't quite decide between the two any comments?

Sculptris fun

I thought i'd try out scupltris see what it had to offer. I found it much easier to use than zbrush if much more limited in it's scope. One interesting thing is the paint export to photoshop. It gives you mutlitple layers to work with and you can really tweak quite a lot directly in photoshop. I would say if you can't get zbrush sculptris has much of the same feel to it. Also it seem like the good ppl at pixologic are working to make it so the transition from sculptris to zbrush is a viable learning path.

Some sketches i took pictures of with me phone might bring a few into the ol'shop and see if i can add some fun colors and backgrounds.

Axe

Working on an axe for a new lvl i was thinking of making for udk. The properly textured one is the low poly version i haven't yet normalized it with the high poly. But i figured i'd throw in a little scene for the render.

Well I have been really sidetracked lately with video games so it's time to try and set those aside for awhile and refocus on my work, creating a better portfolio, and start looking for work....again. so i was gonna continue yesterdays but got busy putting in a fence and Vanessa and Jeremy were over to visit. Therefore you get a random sketch from my brain. Enjoy it so much....:).

so here is todays. I found an old how to draw manga book that i think will benefit me on proportions and just some simple procedures to getting the look that i want. So i think i'll pick up tomorrow where i left off and see how much farther i can get.

So i was at the laundry mat and it was really hard to see the screen so this is all with the brush tool and just a really quick random sketch. I've been reading webcomics and they are pretty cool. However i was reading a few and the art was about the same quality. And as they continued them the art got much better so that was really comforting knowing that if i can stick at it i may just get better. Anyhow that is where this sketch comes from.

So decided i wanted to try and draw something everyday so trying to set aside some time to do that, this is todays little drawing. I am attempting to get quicker at it. I am only giving myself 30min for a daily little sketch. I also think i need to be working on a bigger piece that i can really take my time and try my best just haven't decided the content maybe some life drawings? any ideas or suggestions? I know my mom wants something for her wall. I could try my hand at some scenery i don't typically draw that so it would be a good practice.

Groo the Wanderer~Character by Sergio Argones

 I grew up with Groo the Wanderer comics I've always loved the busy art and just looking through all the little details. When I finally started to learn 3D modeling I immediately wanted to try out this character. So here is my progress so far. I am learning quite a lot of what not to do as I continue this model but I suppose that will help me down the road. hope you enjoy.
